We’re looking for volunteers for Ignite Burlington 2014!

Happy Friday!

Hergenrother Foundation is very excited to be bringing Ignite Burlington to our community for the 3rd year!  Each year the event is packed with incredible speakers with interesting and inspiring stories.  And this year is no different!

We will be announcing our line-up of speakers the first week of September, when tickets go on sale.  Stay tuned!

In the meantime, we are looking for volunteers to help with event management, registration, t-shirt sales, and more on the day of the event – Thursday, October 9th.   Volunteering is a great way to give back and network!  If you are interested, please email hallie@adamhergenrother.com.

Apoetaswell moved the audience with this message shared through slam poetry and surprise guest Rick Yarosh inspired with his incredible story of overcoming adversity and turning the negative into the positive.  It was an honor to have them both speak at Ignite Burlington.

David Hill, Realtor at Keller Williams Realty, CEO of The Hill Team, and Owner of PreferredAgent, shared his story of “Overcoming Life’s Obstacles” and Janet Smith, Director of Vermont Transcendental Meditation Center, taught us about “Transcending – The Key to Higher Consciousness, Fulfillment, Peace.”

Presentation: Overcoming Life’s Obstacles | “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.”- Albert Einstein

David Hill is a Keller Williams Realtor, CEO of The Hill Team, and Owner of PreferredAgent.  David began his career in the Real Estate  in 2002. In 2005 he started the Hill Team.   The Hill Team has consistently averaged 90 sides per year since 2008, and in 2012 is currently the #1 Team in volume in all offices for Worcester MA.

David has been a member of Gary Keller’s (Chairman of the Board of Keller Williams Realty) private Masterminds since 2010, and was featured on stage with Gary at Mega Camp in 2010.  David is one of about 60 Keller Williams Realty approved national trainers, and owns a national prospecting and referral company called PreferredAgent.  David is passionate about personal growth, loves teaching, and lives by the philosophy from Zig Ziglar: “Help enough people get what they want and you end up with whatever you want.”

Speaker Spotlight - Janet Smith

 

Presentation:  Transcending – The Key to Higher Consciousness, Fulfillment, Peace

Janet Smith is the Director of Vermont Transcendental Meditation Center. She has been practicing and teaching the TM technique for over 40 years and leading and participating in peace projects since 1979.

Janet learned the Transcendental Meditation technique in 1972. She participated in the first World Peace Assembly in the US, at Amherst, MA, in 1979  and then helped establish a permanent group to create peace and coherence for the USA in Fairfield, Iowa. She has been involved full time with the TM organization since then, including 3 years teaching at the Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment, helping establish the Maharishi College of Vedic Medicine, and teaching the TM technique throughout the US for over 20 years.

She has an Elementary Teaching Certificate, MA in Science of Creative Intelligence, and an Honorary PhD for her work participating in and leading World Peace Assemblies in the US, Europe, and India.

Janet enjoys Maharishi Ayurveda cooking, exploring nature, and traveling. She and her husband were delighted to move to Vermont in 2011 to be close to family.
